Description
TAIT Environmental Services, Inc. is looking for an Underground Storage Tank Tester/ Service Technician Apprentice. The Service Technician is involved in the construction, installation, testing, repair and maintenance of petroleum underground storage tanks for fuel storage and distribution systems. The apprentice will work alongside the Service Technician for approximately 3 months until he/she is able to work independently. The technician is assigned a company service truck to be used for job sites upon successful completion of the training period. Candidate must be quick to learn & have the drive to learn & grow with the team at TAIT.

Qualifications
• Valid California Driver License and ability to drive extensively (throughout the workweek, some weekends, occasional out of state work).
• Ability to work and trouble shoot independently
• Ability to understand and conform to complex regulatory requirements
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Outlook and other Programs or Databases
• Ability to pass physical exam, drug screening, background check, and MVR
• Current 24 hour HAZWOPER certificate a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Attend training classes to gain certifications necessary for UST testing
• Perform various UST test procedures alongside an experienced technician. This includes monitor system certifications, secondary containment testing, spill bucket testing, and vapor recovery testing per state/local regulatory requirements
• Learn to diagnose and perform repairs to aboveground and underground storage tank systems
• Drive company work truck to client job sites, often 100+ miles per day
• Ability to work with laptop computer to enter test data online, use email & internet
• Perform all work safely according to company and client job safety requirements
