JOB TITLE: Compliance Specialist

JD2 Environmental Inc. (JD2) has an outstanding opportunity for a junior-level Environmental Engineer / Scientist looking to expand their base of knowledge and project experience. JD2 is known Nationwide as one of the leading companies in solving problems with Storage Tank related issues. JD2 employees can realize technical, regulatory, and business growth through comprehensive involvement in project work and hands-on participation providing solutions to clients on Tank relate compliance concerns.

OVERVIEW: The Compliance Specialist is responsible review notice of violations, analyzing inspection reports, develop scope of work, dispatching contractors, and work with other staff on tank compliance issues and projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop responses to NOV’s to regulatory agencies and work on solutions to resolve compliance issues.
• Review inspection and compliance findings to determine the required corrective action to return the facility to compliance.
• Updating tank registrations and reporting.
• Review testing data to determine compliance and required follow-up.
• Communicate information and corrective actions professionally with clients, staff, regulators, and contractors.
• Assistance with field inspections with other staff professionals.

Education, Experience, And Training

A combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is acceptable with skills or education listed below:

• Bachelors or Associates degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the environmental compliance industry preferred.
• Demonstrated project management skills
• The ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight
• Strong technical writing skills, solid skills in math and verbal/written communications
• Base level knowledge of Federal and State Environmental statutes and regulations such as 40 CFR Part 280.

Computer Skills

• Internet Regulatory Search
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Office Suite
