As such you will perform technical reviews of reports, plans, and proposals; coordinating reviews with technical staff; issuing written comments for corrections, improvements or additional work; approving reports in accordance with state rules and guidance; conducting quality assurance field audits of contractors at contaminated sites; performing contract management of state funded sites; negotiating and developing scopes of work, change orders, and processing purchase orders and invoices in the state’s contacting system MFMP. Do you have a passion for protecting the environment and public health from the hazards of petroleum contamination? Do you have the skills and experience to manage complex and challenging cleanup projects? If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) Site Manager position at Sarasota County.

As a PRP Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the restoration of petroleum contaminated sites to acceptable soil and groundwater target levels, in accordance with state rules and guidance. You will work closely with contractors, technical staff, and state agencies to ensure the quality and timeliness of the cleanup work. Your duties will include:

Performing technical reviews of reports, plans, and proposals submitted by contractors and providing feedback for corrections, improvements, or additional work
Approving reports and monitoring the progress and performance of the cleanup work
Conducting quality assurance field audits of contractors at contaminated sites and generating inspection reports
Performing contract management of state funded sites, including negotiating and developing scopes of work, change orders, and processing purchase orders and invoices in the state’s contracting system AOD
About You
To thrive in this position, you must have-

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, or a related field
At least three years of experience in project management, environmental consulting, or petroleum contamination cleanup
Knowledge of the state’s Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) Clean-up Contract and its requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, technical staff, state agencies, and site owners/responsible parties
Ability to use STCM, Oculus, MFMP, and other relevant software applications
Valid Florida driver’s license
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $55,577.60 - $75,025.60/year, based on your experience.

Full Position Pay Range (future earning potential): $55,577.60 - $94,473.60/year
