Pump Guy,

from one tech to another your cutting yourself a little short. I'll bet the Alaska guy is willing to pay $35 an hour for a guy like you. Guys with little to no experience are getting $24 an hour in Dallas. I know my company would probably start you at $27. What you need to be asking is about insurance and benefits. Thats where the big differences are being made. A company that gives you a decent benefit package may actually be giving you an extra $5 to $10 an hour. My insurance is %100 paid but i have to fork over $950 a month to keep my family on the policy and if I have to make an E-Room visit my deductible is 5k so that is an out of pocket of $17,000 or more for the year. Believe me i know because thats what I paid in insurance this year. I have worked over 1,000 hrs of overtime for the last 3 years and will break 100k this year but after Insurance and taxes are pulled I'm lucky to take home my base salary. Any way that is my 2 cents good luck with your search.
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
