The tech running may have been burned in the incident. Then again if I saw flames engulfing a turbine sump on top of a 10 or 12 thousand gallon fuel storage tank full of gasoline I would have been running as well. And I would have kept running quite possibly right out of the business of servicing retail and commercial gas stations.
I'm told when your time is up in the gas tank business, all you see or hear for a second or two is a bright white flash and a little ringing in your ears.
