Ruby only and ID scanning

Best I can remember this is a no go but is it possible to use a 2D scanner on a ruby only and be able to scan drivers licenses? Need a minimum of sapphire, right? Thanks... :roll:

I would think if 2d scanning was an option in gemstall, it would work. Not sure though.

You had to have a certain base version and a fast food card if I remember correctly. I can’t remember if it worked with ruby only though.

It works if you change the port speed to 9600. Dont need a fast food card - just expanded PLU if you go over 1000. It's horribly slow though - we installed a couple and pulled them all out a few weeks later because the Ruby just didn't have the CPU power.
