Vistas going offline after adding new dispensers

Post by DoMo » Thu Aug 27, 2020 8:02 pm

We added three vista def dispensers to an existing installation of three dispensers. The next morning the dispenser all went offline and came back after a few hours. That continued everyday until yesterday when they did not come back online at all. Bootstrapping the last dispenser brought all of them back online, but they went offline again this morning and reloading all six igems didn’t help.

They are wired in three current loops to a dbox going into a nexgen connected to a comdata/trendar pos. Every igem has blinking pc/host lights and the board in the dbox has a blinking light for the three loops.

We can’t figure out why they would stop working in the mornings, or why they won’t come back online this time.

Try turning the canopy lights back on?

Whet dbox are you using? It sounds like a current loop issue.
Are you here to raise the prices?

I thought it would work even though the sign said "OUT OF ORDER"

It's come to me over the years that orange cones are idiot attractants.. :P

That makes sense. The three loops may have been interfering with each other at some point. We had a new electrician run stranded pair to all 6 dispensers and everything came back online. How would one diagnose that one of the loops was the issue? I tried isolating each loop by powering down the dispensers on the other loops with no luck.

Thanks for your response!
