What Do You Think About Female Techs?
General thoughts about females joining the service industry; good, bad, who cares. Do you believe a female would receive fair consideration for an entry level technician position? Why or why not? Do you know of any companies that have hired females to work as an entry level technician? How do you think most technician's wives would feel about their spouse having a female technician for a fellow employee? Is it more dangerous for a female to be on call after normal working hours? How about inside work on the parts counter, as a dispatcher, service manager or trainer?

Very Touchy Subject, but...
We have one in Oregon, I think she puts in 110%
Some of the new Americans don't give her a chance...
But she get it done!

I personally don't care. Do the work, get paid. No less or more expectations. The job is the job, you can either do it or you can't.

She should....if she doesn't get fair consideration, sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. hiring or not hiring someone based on gender is illegal.
Do you know of any companies that have hired females to work as an entry level technician?
nope.
How do you think most technician's wives would feel about their spouse having a female technician for a fellow employee?
If your wife has a problem with you working with females, you need marriage counseling or a new wife.
Is it more dangerous for a female to be on call after normal working hours?
not anymore dangerous than me working after hours.
How about inside work on the parts counter, as a dispatcher, service manager or trainer?
how about what? as stated above, it's a job. you hire the best person for the job. if they can't do it, fire them and find someone else.

If being a female tech is no big deal and no different than a male tech, then why are there so few female service technicians? Why don't more females apply for open positions?

Not sure how I feel about ad bars on the forum in general, but this particular one showing up in this particular thread is highly questionable.

the ads are a new thing arnt they?
I don't like them..
I have had a few female employees here at the station. they know full well going into it that they will get hosed in gas, cold wet and dirty, cut up hands... they have all been great! I like peoples reactions when they see her. Equality. Care not do I. If you can do the job, then do the job!

Yes! She should... but I am wondering why the need to ask this question? The answer is an obvious society that differs the two MALE/FEMALE in regard to everything. That makes no sense ...
