Phone Cable Proximity to UST tank Field and Piping?

Does anyone know the NFPA30/30A code for distance an underground utility cable can be from existing underground tanks and piping? I have a situation were the utility cable is run across product piping and I am being asked for NFPA documentation stating how far it needs to be. I started reading NFPA ...

Thanks for reply. This is a Total Containment tank. not CSI. It is a steel tank with a poly jacket.

Total Containment Eco 111?

I also posted this in the compliance section.

Does anyone have any experience with fixing the secondary jacket of a Total containment tank? I believe the model number is Eco 111 or 110? It appears I have a small weep on one of the secondary jacket welds. I'm looking for ideas to fix? if any?

Re: Containment sumps that are water tight

I wish there was. I battle the same thing here in MD, VA and Delaware. Have not come across any real full proof sumps. The biggest problem is the sump is only as good as the last person to put the lid back on.

Product on Fire in tank Excavation During Removal

Looking for advice.... Here is the situation. We have removed (3) gasoline tanks and are going to install new tanks. The excavation has been shored. We know we have contaminated soil. We are excavating the tank hole within the shoring. We have hit a pocket of raw product. This pocket has sparked and...

Re: Utilities in Tank Excavations

Water, wells, sewer and septic fall into health department codes in my area. I just recently had a site with sewer line to close to tank excavation. The health department requires 30 feet from tank excavation.

Re: Fire Marshall and AST safe suction piping test?

I am thoroughly confused. If it is safe suction what is the point of the 52 valve? I almost can't imagine what a safe suction system with AST would even look like. The pump would have to be above the top of the tank and the line slope back to the tank top. The 52 valve acts as an anti-syphon valve....
