The Fuel System Project Engineer is an experienced engineer who approves and develops bulk fuel storage, dispensing systems, and piping for commercial and retail projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides technical direction over a group of fuel system engineers and/or functions as a technical specialist, staff advisor, and consultant; uses independent judgment to formulate and develop advanced engineering concepts.
Conducts constructability reviews or assists in the design/planning/review of other engineering projects assigned to others.
Prepares improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for projects.
Coordinates technical and administrative activities for a project with other disciplines and departments within Galloway and outside Firms.
Performs work involving fueling system design.
Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Conceptualizes the initial design approach for major phases of large facility-type projects, and works with mechanical and civil engineers to design various storage and dispensing systems.

Bachelor's of Engineering from a four-year, board-approved engineering curriculum. Prefer registration as a Professional Engineer or Possession of Engineering Intern certification.

EXPERIENCE

Typically four to eight years of progressive work experience in the fueling system design/engineering field.after educational requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Possesses a working knowledge of the principles and practices of fueling system design engineering and architecture.
Understands and possesses a working knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and approval processes as well as site-specific research with respect to these issues.
Experienced in fueling design for convenience stores and the components of associated retail fueling systems.
Experienced in retail fueling systems and commercial/fleet fueling systems, including bulk fuel storage, dispensing systems and pipelines.
Works well with AutoCAD technicians and AutoCAD designers for the preparation and modification of plans.
Is familiar with LEED and energy efficient design.
Demonstrates strong technical and design calculation skills.
Is experienced in concurrently managing multiple projects.
Demonstrates strong skills in managing schedules and budgets.
Demonstrates strong leadership skills and is able to manage teams effectively.
Is highly organized, with the ability to understand interdisciplinary issues.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Is proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs.
Understands client goals, and uses effective communication and leadership skills to manage project schedules and budgets.
Communicates in a timely and effective manner within team and with clients, various agencies, and other disciplines working on project.
Demonstrates effective leadership skills in directing and completing assigned work; is able to manage multiple projects.
Works independently with little supervision; exercises independent judgment in completion of work, including directing engineering activities to complete project.
