Commander in excess of 16 fueling points.

So in the 485 bd. kits for the smart controller, it says you can double the wires up under one position, but that doesn't really seem to be the case. Adding the second board, and they cannot establish communications for cats (Wayne), 17-20....Tried renumbering 1-4 on 2nd bd., with no luck. Dispenser portion ok. Wayne iX bds. with current software. Anybody have any thoughts from the trenches.

FYI....the auto configure on hose positions only seems to work with the latest and greatest on the dispensers. Older dispensers had to configure the classic way.

I've set up a few Gilb sites with more than 16 positions with no issues other than if it looses comms to a single position, it flakes that whole loop out. Haven't done a Wayne with that many yet. Do you possibly have one of 17-20 IX boards addressed incorrectly? Just throwing it out there.

I did one site and had no issues. Did you make sure that those DVDs are set to channel 2 on the DCR position section of managed modules?

1st rs485 board set to A1-5 for positions 1-16, 2nd rs485 board set to A1-6 for positions 17-32. So you will use 2 rs-232 cables from the fci to commander

In my opinion though it speeds cat communication up if you evenly split the cats across the two boards.

And the cats are numbered as the actual cat position (17 would be 17, 20 would be 20)
