What the heck is a motor column cover? Heard it referred to with chuckles as an EPVC column condom. Even more chuckles when we were told it was not adjustable and had to be cut to fit.
When you are dead it's likely you won't know it. It could be difficult for others. It's the same if you are stupid.

I hate to bump an older thread, but whatever happened to the proposed 10 micron filter rule? Would a filter like the cimtek 10 micron glass 8" filter (70032) help extend the time between filter changes under such regulations? Of course, this is keeping in mind that there aren't bigger problems in the tank that is the root cause of filter issues.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON WEIGHTS AND MEASURES UPDATE
The National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) held its 2017 interim meeting last week in San Antonio. Each year, this meeting determines which issues will be voted on at the annual NCWM meeting in July.
In San Antonio, regulators decided to abandon a proposal by the state of Missouri to require 10-micron filters on retail diesel dispensers. This proposal was originally submitted in 2012 and had subsequently been modified to allow exceptions for cold weather areas and high-flow dispensers.
I would suppose that some state or local jurisdiction could still require 10 micron but I couldn't say that for sure. Weights and Measures seems to have dropped it.

Keeping water (moisture as condensation) and oxygen (an oxidizer) out of the tank works better. API 2000 6th and 7th editions to be more precise.

Remove water, conduct testing, tank lining, oxygen displacement, biocides, corrosion inhibitors, others.
Thank you for post. What evidence or third party test by certified lab or licensed engineer can you refer us to that demonstrate biocides do work to control corrosion.

Thank you,
