Advantage & DiamondScan POS

Post by jgar477 » Thu May 16, 2019 5:03 am

Got called to a site for an error 31. Cleared in mode 6 and reprogrammed pump. Pump got prices from POS and works fine in stand alone. Pump resets ok and am able to pump.

Placed pump back in console mode and found pump 1 and 2 showing idle on pos. (Site only has one pump.)

Authorized pump from POS. POS shows when handle is lifted however will not reset at all on any grade. Pumps are Advantage 6 hose blenders with lift to start with the midgrade product not being used. Only using unleaded ethanol and unleaded non-ethanol.

Cold started Gold box and POS as per DiamondScan helpdesk. They have logged in and reset everything and looked over programming and say everything is ok on their end.

I cold started pump from display and reprogrammed pump again. Double checked programming and again works just fine in stand alone. I have tried new hydraulic interface board and regulator board. Didn't have a pump controller board with me. Going back out there today with one.

Just wondering if anybody has seen this issue or if there's something I'm missing that I'm not seeing.

Did you check your dip switch settings on the boards?

Are these push to start or lift to start advantages?

Check your handle switches when authorizing, if one is bad, the whole side doesn't work.

There are no dip switch settings on these boards.

Pump is lift to start.

Everything works ok in standalone.

Well, you have definitely lost your POS connection to the dispensers, re-boot and reprogramme IP addresses

Everything was showing idle on the POS and was recognizing when the handle was lifted.

Anyways, spoke with their fuel "specialist" yesterday and in act of desperation (their words not mine) made some changes deep down in the programming and got it working.

Why would anyone buy this who was serious about running a legit C store?
They are not the first. We have a customer that pulled out perfectly good Passports at 3 sites for an oddball system. We made a lot of money standing there off and on for weeks while they tried to make it work.

The lack of support is the reason why its dumb to do that.
