Title: Field Technician
Reports to: Service Manager

Job Summary:
Ability to perform field service trouble shooting and major repairs on fuel dispensing systems and control equipment. Supports all other technicians. Provide field OJT training to developing technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts himself as a role model for all technicians and trainees
As a role model, personal appearance, attendance, punctuality, paperwork, following procedures service truck cleanliness and organization and troubleshooting procedures are maintained at the highest level
Performs system start-up and commissioning
Conducts routine diagnostics using a laptop computer, specialized software, and test equipment
Trains customers in the operation and use of the equipment
Programs and configures POS systems, networking, tank monitors, and fuel management system controllers
Calibrates and tests equipment to manufacturers, EPA, TDA and TCEQ specifications
Controls and maintains truck inventory, tools & test equipment
Maintains product technical documentation and service bulletins
Completes applicable service reports, installation reports and manufacturers documentation
Collects service fee from COD customers
Follows published company procedures and guidelines

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires mechanical and electrical aptitude
Computer literate and the ability to effectively use specialized application and diagnostic software
Troubleshooting skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Thorough knowledge of fuel delivery and monitoring systems
Knowledge of the state weights and measures criteria for performing dispenser calibration
Knowledge of safety procedures and the use of safety equipment

Credentials and Experience:
API certification
Driver Safety Course
Gilbarco certifications
Wayne dispensing certifications
Verifone Certifications
Red Jacket STP
Veeder Root Tank Monitor certification
Incon certification
Minimum 18 months experience in the capacity of a Field Technician trainee
