Commander

Post by javamelt » Mon Dec 02, 2019 5:39 pm

After replacing sata dom on commander getting a “flashing” A8 with ??? On the lcd screen. Tried loading software with Petro suite but it doesn’t proceed. Replaced with a known good working one and I’m able to load software. I’ve tried two sata doms we just bought, getting same outcome. Today was a snow day so I was trying this in office, not on site. Anyone see this before? Maybe I was just to impatient and didn’t wait long enough?

After replacing the SATA DOM, boot the Commander in diagnostic mode. When you see the “dd” display, switch the diagnostic switch back, and load the Commander with the Petro Suite installer.

Looks like I was using a sata dom for a Ruby CI. Oops! ;)

I thought the SATA DOM for the Commander and the RubyCI were the same part?

They are very close but one ends in -B and one with -C. They are not compatible. I also thought the same because description says site controller/Ruby CI. Then after re reading hardware guide and getting a second opinion we found this out.
