Wayne EMV Upgrade - Confusing Quotes

Post by PLExeDYn » Tue Jul 21, 2020 4:33 pm

We received two quotes for upgrading our dispensers to EMV. Its a mix of Ovation, Ovation 2 & Vista dispensers. The parts quoted in each are different, and I'm not sure which quote has the correct parts. Can someone here clarify what parts are being quoted?

Existing (Updated Per Messages Below):
Enternet and RS485 is available at the dispensers
All have b&w QVGA display & SPM keypad

Ovation
Red Board (WU003096 Rev 03)
Card reader - WU003908-01 Rev 01 \ Sankyo 12-2012 MCM2PO-4R1230

Ovation 2
Jade Board (WU011879 - 0001 Rev 01)
Card Reader - WU003908-002 Rev 01 \ Sankyo MCM2PO-4R1230

Vista
Red Board (WU003096 Rev 03)
Card Reader - Panasonic ZU-1870MA8T

Quote 1
iX Jade Board Conversation Kit with Dual Hybrid Chip Readers - to upgrade Ovation & Vista
Dual Hybrid Chip Readers - W2893811-001 - to upgrade Ovation 2

Quote 2
2D1/D6/LN/R - to upgrade Ovation
W2893811-002 - to upgrade Vista
W2893913-002 - to upgrade Ovation 2

Quote 1 seems like the right parts to me. I asked for clarification on Quote 2, but can't seem to get any.

Without knowing exactly what is installed in all your pumps no one will be able to tell you if those are what you need. EMV needs card reader, SPM, Ix Jade board/s and either a Connect kit or Cat5 run to each pump.

OK, Thank you for the response. I can't seem to get a clear answer from the vendor. Can you tell me:

What is:
2D1/D6/LN/R
W2893913-002

What is the difference between:
W2893811-001
W2893811-002

Not the way this works.. What do you have installed in each pump and I can tell you what is needed. I won't break down kits for you.

Thank you for the offer to help. In the orginal post, I listed what I have on site. What information is missing? Do you need part numbers for each component, such as the existing reader, keypad, display? If so, it will take me a day or so to get back to you.

What type card readers are installed in each pump? Does the Vista already have a retrofit kit installed for PCI? What color Ix board is installed in the Vista?

Basically there are 4 or 5 different ways to quote this and I'm not trying to step on another distributors toes. I'll help make sure you have the correct quotes and explain them best I can. There are many variables besides which model you have so without a complete survey it's very difficult to make sure your quote is right. Even then there may be some things that a survey wouldn't reveal.

Just the b&w QVGA screens. Not really interested in the IOTV.

Are you saying the Sankyo readers (WU003908-01 Rev 01) I have in the Ovation1/2 may be chip readers, or just that the pana definitely is not?

It is my understanding that Jade and Red boards can not be mixed at an IOTV site, so since you don't have IOTV its not a concern. I have been told the Red IX boards can be used for Outdoor EMV if no IOTV. I would strongly recommend upgrading to all Jade IX boards as they are faster and have more memory, I have a feeling they will be required in the near future. As for the card readers if they are all vertical readers they will all need to be replaced with horizontal Hybrid Chip readers. All Key pads must be SPM's.

I hope this helps your decision making a little.
